Last week it was revealed that Muppet*Vision 3-D in Disneyland’s California Adventure will be closing for an undisclosed period of time. While most sources presume that the closing is permanent, yours truly took a trip down to Disneyland to investigate (okay, not just to investigate…), and the cast members working at the attraction informed me that, to their knowledge, it would not be a permanent closure. The cast members said it would be a temporary Frozen-themed holiday attraction and Muppet*Vision should reopen after the Disneyland holiday period. However, this is still technically just a rumor… so only time will tell.

Kermit the Frog, Gonzo the Great, and Animal are featured in a commercial for UK’s Sky TV holiday season. They star along with The LEGO Movie‘s Batman, characters from Frozen, and Spider-Man. The Muppet portion of the commercial was directed by Kirk Thatcher.

To promote the UK’s upcoming Sesame Street co-production The Furchester Hotel, a new video released on YouTube (see above) showcases comedian John Oliver being very British with the distinctly not British Cookie Monster, who receives a new, more English name from John.

A few weeks ago, Walt Disney World released a video from the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival starring The Swedish Chef and Pepe the King Prawn (see above). The video is really funny and a lot of fun. It’s great to see two Bill Barretta characters interact together!

Speaking of Bill Barretta, he has directed a new series of Muppet interstitials to air on Disney Junior next year! Although no footage from the pieces has been shown, we’ve heard that they are incredibly fun, funny, and adorable. I’m definitely looking forward to more Muppets on TV come 2015!
