Mitchell Stein- Have you ever wanted to get the chance to have a one-on-one conversation with a live Muppet? Well, chances are you are with the majority of Muppet fans who haven’t quite got that amazing opportunity in person just yet. Luckily enough though, Disney Interactive is here to fix that.
A few weeks ago, Disney Interactive and The Muppets Studio began giving fans the opportunity for a live one-on-one discussion with Miss Piggy herself. By heading over to Miss Piggys personal Facebook page and hitting the “message” button, an actual real time live chat window will open up allowing you to ask Piggy whatever you want. Hilariously, Piggy often spends more time filling you in with stories about her personal life and the inevitable break up. She’s known to pry away from touchy subjects, so we suggest you stick to the praises if you don’t a virtual karate chop through your screen.
Since Miss Piggy is obviously very busy, her live chat is only available at selected and specific times which are only announced unexpectedly on Piggys own page. Currently her page has the chance listed at Mondays through Fridays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Pacific, and it’s unspecified until what date this opportunity will last, so get it in while you still can!
The website MarketingLand.com dropped this interesting article just as I was ready to hit the Publish button on this article. The great article gives a small look behind the scenes of this new technology created by an Israeli firm named Imperson. According to the article, every response is pre-written, but when a fan sends a message through the system, it quickly auto sends out the most relevant message. It actually works surprisingly well, with hardly any flaws. It practically feels like an actual live conversation.
This truly amazing technology is the first of its kind to come from Disney and Facebook and I’m thrilled that Miss Piggy was appropriately the first and so far the only Disney character to have this interactive experience, plus it blends so very well with The Muppets co-existense in our world. Giving Piggy the opportunity to open up to her adoring fans has opened a truly great experience and an endless possibilities for further interactive experiences. What’s next? A Kermit, Fozzie, or perhaps a Mr. Poodlepants live chat? Hey, a fan can dream, right?
Be sure to head on over to Miss Piggy’s Facebook page weekdays 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Pacific for your live conversation!
