Jarrod Fairclough – In ‘Strange Search Terms’, we examine some of the different questions and statements that the public have typed in to Google that have lead them to The Muppet Mindset. We then attempt to answer their question, or try to figure out what exactly they’re after.
The following search terms are copies and pasted exactly as they were searched, spelling mistakes and all.
sesame street girls name is katie showed piture to clss fo baby
(After going through close 20 pages on Google, I have no idea how this search lead to this website… ‘Sesame Street’ I guess?)
Searching the great expanse that is Muppet Wiki, I was lead to the page for the long forgotten recurring Sesame Street segment ‘School in the Afternoon’, a soap opera based around a classroom of Muppet children. While I could only find one sketch, it’s possible that the character Katie (above) showed a picture of a baby to the class for some comedic reason, akin to people dropping baby bombshells on soap operas. If anyone has any other ideas, or know what this person was on about, please let us know!
Stinky the Stinkweed merchandise
(This search takes us to Stinky’s ‘Weekly Muppet Wednesday‘)
Amazingly, after searching high and low, I was surprised to learn that though he’s been around for over 20 years and had multiple Street stories revolve around him, there has never been any official Stinky merchandise! No plush, no figures, nothing! It seems like a missed oppurtunity, as I’m sure a lot of us would love to have a lifesize plush Stinky sitting on our windowsill. But that’s okay, I don’t wanna be a bother…
dog from fragile rock
(This search takes us to Sprocket’s ‘Weekly Muppet Wednesday‘)
Surely we can all be safe in assuming this searcher meant to look for the dog from FRAGGLE Rock, and not some knock off show about a delicate rock that could break at any second if it wasn’t looked after. The dog you are looking for is Sprocket, pet of Doc, and he was played by Steve Whitmire!
wheres the muppets at california Disneyland?
(This search takes us to ‘MuppetVision3D Might Be Closing – But That’s Okay‘)
In a time before Muppets Courtyard, there were rumors flying that MuppetVision 3D may close at Disney World, after it had temporarily shut down in Disneyland. While Orlando still has the attraction, and looks to be getting far more, Disneyland’s MuppetVision 3D theater is now unrecognizable as the feature we love! The theater is currently empty, and while it is been renamed the Sunset Showcase Theater, an exclusive source revealed that Disney are still calling it ‘The Muppet Theater’ in all official documentation. That’s probably just a logistical thing, but it’s nice to know the Muppet name is still there in spirit.
Blue Elmo holding stop sign
(This post takes us to ‘The Top 10 Songs of Grover‘)
When I first saw this search term I was expecting to find a weird MS Paint drawing of Elmo holding a stop sign. No such luck, unfortunately! Instead, I found a picture of Elmo and Jack Black holding a stop sign against a blue background. Interestingly it has nothing to do with the Top 10 songs of Grover, nor did that picture even appear in that article. And that’s why it’s a Strange Search Term!
