Muppets Make History While Remaking History in New Photo

Beginning this fall, guests visiting Walt Disney World, and specifically The Magic Kingdom will get treated to an all-new Muppet themed show taking place right in front of the Liberty Square Hall of Presidents attraction. The show, The Muppets Present…Great Moments in American History will be a live-show that will feature Sam Eagle,in his attempt to put on a live-show dedicated to American history, only to have his high-brow, intellectual performance interrupted by the rest of the core Muppet gang, Kermit, Piggy, Gonzo and Fozzie. The show is described as an ongoing daily performance, and The Muppet gang will continue to appear throughout the day in the area for additional performances and gags.

For Muppet fans of any kind, the immersion of the Muppets within the Magic Kingdom is something that sounds truly incredible. Details of what the show will entail and how it will be performed from a technical standpoint are still pretty scarce, but as we eagerly await the opening of the show, we’ve been treated to a brand-new photo of the show, featuring the cast of characters appearing in the show in their themed costumes. The photo surfaced online through an official Disney email list for Walt Disney World annual passholders.

Once again, this looks pretty incredible, and we can’t wait to find out more as we approach the opening date. An opening date has yet to be announced, but according to Walt Disney World News Today, the attraction will begin it’s first show on October 2nd, 2016.

Between The Muppets Present and the expansion of the Muppet Courtyard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney World is really trying to corner the market on Muppet fans. Keep with us and we’ll be sharing more news, pictures and videos from the attraction as opening day approaches.
