Jarrod Fairclough – In just a couple of weeks, Disney will be releasing Muppets Meet The Classics: Phantom of the Opera, a retelling of the classic tale featuring The Muppets in all the parts. Uncle Deadly stars as The Phantom, Miss Piggy as Christine, and Kermit the Frog appears as Raoul, in what we hope is the first in a long line of books (may we suggest The Great Gonzby?)
It’s not the first time The Muppets have told classic stories. Various comics a few years back saw The Muppets tell Peter Pan, Sherlock Holmes and Snow White among others. And, of course, there’s The Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island, two of the finest films ever made anywhere ever.
Well, thanks to Disney, we have 4 copies of The Phantom of the Opera to give away! But it’s not as easy as just shooting us an email saying ‘GIMME!’. No, we’re making you work for it!
To win a copy of the book, we want you to do your very best artwork, and send us a drawing of The Muppets as literary characters! That’s all! You might cast Kermit and Gonzo as Harry and Voldemort, or Piggy and Janice as Little Women. Perhaps Pepe stars as The Scarlet Pimpernel, or Fozzie as Frankenstein’s Monster. It’s up to you! There’s just one rule, and that’s to keep it within the Disney Muppets, keeping the other franchises out of it.
All entries must be emailed in no later than Tuesday 10th October, with winners announced the next day. Send them to muppetmindset@gmail.com and good luck!
